Annual Literature Festival for youth Presentation 2026
Library Presentation 2026.Boquete Library has an annual literature program for youth/children and another program in the fall for adults. They invite authors from the area or throughout Panama. One author was from Panama City. I was supposed to have 20 children from one of the small local schools to present my book Mia and Loki. The Muffet program was presenting prior to me and all the children stayed for my presentation too! My mouth dropped open when I saw wall to wall children in the small room.
The library staff had told me that there may be some extra children show up from being in the library with parents, but they weren’t expecting this many! I had planned for 36 because last year at my presentation, I also ended up with 40 children and had to hustle for extra materials. Below are photos, but there were more children towards the front that aren’t shown. ¡Muchos niños! 56 children in all. It was great!

Drawing, Giveaway, and Muffets Library 2026
At the Library Presentation 2026,I gave a book of Mia and Loki away to a child, and had a giveaway of one of my toddler series books, Nite Nite, Duckies. The children were very good for being crowded into the room. They were sitting on the floor and coloring on the floor and not the least upset about it. I have seen this happen on the Ngäbe Comarca also, where there were not chairs or tables and the kids were very nonplussed about it. The children were very adaptable.

This is the front of the room for the 2026 presentation. There were also parents standing behind us and listening. We are speaking with the teacher/director of the school afterwards.
Last, but not least!
The Muffets who were loved by kids and adults. These presenters had to be be exhausted on Friday because they must have given five presentations that day. They let the children hold and talk with the Muffets and make up stories they shared with the rest of the children present. Adults even got in on the act.
